A more exact title for this page might be: “a tiny bit about me.” Here it is.
My name is Tracy Riley. In my work life, the letters that skip along behind my name are “MA, CCC”. I am a certified counsellor who has extensive experience working with individuals in crisis. I have many professional interests including keen interests in the area of trauma work. I envision a career for myself that involves counselling work, teaching, facilitating, writing, creativity, time alone, time with others, work indoors and outdoors, experiential activities, art, community, conversation…so a diverse and creative mix of types of work, roles, and interactions. I am working actively toward this dream.
I currently work as a psychotherapist with individual adults and young adults and also give workshops to helpers on the topic of self-injury. I live in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. To learn more about my work, please visit: www.whatispossible.wordpress.com.
Reflecting on my life thus far and professional involvements, I might quote Pablo Neruda here, saying: Something ignited in my soul–fever or unremembered wings–and I went my own way deciphering that burning fire.
I believe I am known, in part, for my compassion and authenticity. I also know myself as one who has persevered. I am deeply committed to helping others persevere and grow, and to inspiring excellence, compassion, and understanding among helpers–with respect to our work with those seeking our professional assistance, our interactions with each other, and our relationships with ourselves.
I enjoy many activities for recreation and I love a good cup of tea.
